Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention & Manual Material Handling

Mount Saint Joseph along with Worksafe NB have developed a 4 hour program discussing Manual Handling and Musculoskeletal Injury prevention.  This education program would be a benefit to Custodians, Housekeepers and Laborers who are at an increased risk of back injuries when carrying out manual Handling (any activity requiring the use of human force to lift, lower, push, pull, hold, or carry) as part of their job.

Education is a key step to preventing MSI’s.  Employees should have a basic understanding of Body Mechanics, be able to recognize high-risks tasks and be able to identify the early signs and symptoms of an MSI.
